Yamaha P-225 B + L-200B + Bench - Digital piano + stand + Bench
A stylish digital piano with the playing feel of a full-fledged grand, the Yamaha P-225 features a compact body equipped with useful features from practicing. Compatible with the optional LP-1 three-pedal unit.
A compact piano with the sound and features to satisfy the needs of advanced players
Yamaha’s P Series digital pianos are loved by piano players around the world who want the comfortable feel of an acoustic piano in an instrument with a more manageable size and weight.
Compared to its predecessor, the P-225 features a much shorter and thinner body design with a compact style. This model looks beautiful from any angle, and blends in well with any room. To achieve a smaller product chassis, we developed the new GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard (88 keys), which is built to uncompromising standards and offers the same weighted acoustic piano-like playing feel as the GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keys used in previous models in the P Series.
The P-225 features the sounds of Yamaha’s premier concert grand piano, the CFX, and this model uses Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite technology to replicate the expressive moment-by-moment tonal changes that occur in a real grand piano.
Whether you are an advanced piano player or a serious beginner with a desire to learn to play, the P-225 is the perfect choice.
We recommend this model for:
- Players who are looking for a weighted keyboard that feels like an acoustic piano
- People who want a piano in their house but don’t have much space for it
- People who want a second piano
Newly developed GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard offers a realistic playing feel
One of the main concerns of piano players when purchasing a digital piano is related to the feel of the keyboard when they play.
Some of the things that players are specifically concerned with include whether they can feel the weight of the keys in their fingers as with a weighted acoustic piano keyboard; whether the keyboard will respond accurately when they play quicker passages; whether there are any inconsistencies between how hard they play the keys and the sound that results; and whether the keyboard offers a sufficient soft-to-loud dynamic range.
The GHS keyboards used in the P Series thus far have received high praise from customers for the excellent balance and ease of playing that was mentioned above.
The newly developed and more compact GHC (Graded Hammer Compact) keyboard on the new P Series reproduces the playing comfort of its predecessors in every way.
Further, the keyboard unit is more compact than in previous models, while still offering an outstanding playing feel.
The sound of Yamaha’s premier concert grand piano, the CFX
The P-225 gives you the sound of Yamaha’s top-of-the-line CFX concert grand, with shimmering highs and powerful lows. This model is equipped with Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) Lite, a digital technology that realistically reproduces the complex resonance produced by the strings of a grand piano, changing each time according to how the keys are pressed. With the P-225, you can enjoy the sound of a concert grand that’s played and loved by renowned pianists, along with its infinitely realistic resonance. Of course, this instrument doesn’t require tuning.
Place the instrument wherever you like, or even take it with you
One trouble that plagues pianists is that the traditional piano is often too large to fit into a room. To add to this, piano players can’t take their instruments out with them. The P-225 provides a brilliant solution to these problems. The stylish design of this instrument blends well with any room, and is available in black or white color variations to match the mood. With the optional soft case, you can take this instrument with you to the studio, to live gigs or on a trip—whenever you need it.
Voices
The P-225 features 24 Voices. In addition to several grand piano voices including Yamaha’s premier concert grand CFX sound, you can enjoy a wide variety of highly practical voices for keyboard players, including Stage E.Piano, DX E.Piano, Jazz Organ, Strings and more.
Recording, metronome, and rhythm functions to make your piano practice more fun and effective
If you’re wanting to listen to your playing objectively, or to practice only your right hand along with what you play in your left hand, the recording function is just the thing you need. Also, we recommend using the metronome if you want to practice along with a fixed tempo. If you get tired of playing alone, rhythm accompaniment is also available in genres such as rock, pop, jazz, and bossa nova. This also offers a great way to learn genre-specific rhythms.
Play music from the instrument’s speakers via Bluetooth® audio
The P-225 features built-in Bluetooth® audio, which lets you pair this instrument with your Bluetooth®-enabled smartphone or tablet to listen to your favorite music through the instrument’s speakers. You can also play along with the sound coming from the instrument’s speakers. An external adapter is not required.
Songs
The P-225 comes with 71 preset songs, including 21 demo songs that are appropriate for each Voice, such as grand piano, electric piano, various organs, harpsichords including Jazz Organ, E.Clavichord, Vibraphone and so forth. We encourage you to listen to these demo songs, which cover a variety of genres from light classical to baroque masterpieces, R&B, pop music and more, to get an idea of how the P-225 opens up possibilities for your musical expression.
You can preview the Voice demo songs at the bottom of this page.

Sound Boost function for bringing out the sound of the piano
Have you ever been in a session with a band and felt that your sound was being overpowered by the other instruments and getting drowned out in the mix? Worry no more—the P-225 is equipped with a Sound Boost function that switches to a punchy and powerful sound for such situations.
The P-225 offers new settings for enhancing the instrument’s sound as you play and record, while audio data plays back on your smart device. Use this feature when you record using Yamaha’s Smart Pianist app or via Rec’n Share.
Practice with headphones—whenever you want, as much as you want
One of the greatest advantages of a digital piano is the ability to practice while listening to what you play through headphones. This solves the problem of not wanting to disturb family members or neighbors when you play, not to mention eliminating the need for them to hear your playing when it’s not at its best.
*Headphones are optional
The Stereophonic Optimizer
When using headphones, the Stereophonic Optimizer lets players enjoy the dispersed sound heard when sitting in front of an acoustic piano. With the Stereophonic Optimizer, Voices sampled from acoustic pianos appear to come from the body of the instrument. This provides a comfortable, natural experience that removes the drawbacks of performing with headphones.
