Yamaha introduces a new instrument for project studios and home studios: the MX88 synthesizer. The 88-note instrument features exceptionally authentic piano sounds, and over 1,000 others from Yamaha's legendary MOTIF series offer plenty of additional options. Sounds and performance programs can be transferred directly to your computer via USB, thanks to the integrated Audio/MIDI interface. The MX88 also functions perfectly as a remote controller for DAW software such as the included Cubase AI, providing support for many application elements. Despite its extensive functionality, the MX88 is a lightweight and portable design that is perfect for use on stage.

As the top model of the MX series, the MX88 combines the "Full Concert Grand Piano" sound from the Motif series with a Graded Hammer Standard keyboard to give the user the feel of playing a real acoustic instrument. The keys in the lower registers are more heavily weighted than in the higher ones, thanks to which the instrument responds to playing in a uniquely "acoustic" way. The process of creating a piano sound is a unique combination of keyboard mechanics with precisely reproduced the sound of bass, clear mids and natural highs. The company draws on over 100 years of piano-building experience to create a unique keyboard dynamic profile that, in the hands of any musician, is a powerful tool of musical expression. The 128-voice polyphony ensures that each sound extracted will be able to express its potential both on stage and in the studio.

The MX88 brings music directly to your computer. The built-in audio interface transmits a stereo channel via USB to your computer or iOS device. The MIDI interface also allows the MX88 to be used as the master keyboard for other synthesizers, samplers or sound modules, and to control the internal MX88 module using external MIDI devices. The new flagship MX instrument can even control the parameters of the recording software via various knobs. Thanks to these convenient features, the MX88 integrates seamlessly into modern production environments while retaining its distinctive features as a distinctively sounding instrument.

Like the smaller instruments of the MX family (MX49/MX61), the MX88 can communicate directly with Apple smartphones and tablets to further enhance its capabilities. Connecting the MX88 to the FM Essential iOS App adds an FM synthesis engine with 256 presets to evoke the legendary sounds of the eighties or drive modern EDM productions. What's more, the use of VCM (Virtual Circuit Modeling) technology guarantees the sound of vintage effects and high-end studio equipment. The VCM mimics the characteristics of the original component parts to produce sounds remarkably close to analog circuitry.

The Steinberg Cubase AI software that comes with the MX88 is a comprehensive music production tool. Cubase AI supports up to 32 audio tracks at 24-bit/192kHz and 48 MIDI tracks along with advanced editing features. The combination of the MX88 and Cubase AI is an all-in-one package for home music production.
