Turbosound TQ8 – 8" Full-Range Loudspeaker
The 2-way, full-range TQ8 is a passive, 8-inch speaker system with a power capacity of 1100W, perfectly suited for a wide range of speech and music sound reinforcement applications. Designed to work in conjunction with Lab Gruppen amplifiers and loudspeaker management systems, the TQ8 delivers optimal performance in FOH, sidefill, and delay line applications.
The TQ8 is equipped with an 8-inch neodymium low-frequency transducer with a low-mass voice coil for improved transient response, and a 1.4-inch neodymium high-frequency compression driver with an aluminum dome mounted on a rotatable 80° horizontal and 30° vertical exponential horn, paired with a Dendritic Plane Wave Transformer (DPWT) waveguide. All drivers are matched to an internal passive crossover within a reflex-type enclosure. The rear panel connection plate includes 2 Neutrik speakON* NL4 connectors for input connections and linking additional cabinets.
Finished with a highly durable, semi-matte black paint, the cabinet is constructed from 15mm (5/8") plywood and features a rugged, powder-coated, fabric-wrapped perforated steel mesh grill. Numerous threaded mounting points allow for versatile mounting and suspension in any orientation. Optional rotatable bracket and suspension hardware are available. The TQ8 also features a dual 35mm pole socket for standard pole mounting and an integrated handle for easy transportation.
Custom Transducers, Waveguides, and Horns
Turbosound is globally renowned for designing and manufacturing some of the most iconic loudspeakers and subwoofers. We take great care and pride in maintaining that reputation by using only transducers, waveguides, and horns designed and manufactured by us to our exacting standards. The phase-coherent response of our dendritic waveguide has been part of our premium design approach for the last two decades, and the TQ series features a refined dendritic curved waveguide combined with a new, rotatable 80° x 30° horn, ensuring precise high-frequency dispersion.
Integration with Lab Gruppen PLM+
With the increasing complexity of modern sound systems, seamless integration with Lab Gruppen PLM+ is a prerequisite for the TQ series from Turbosound. Our engineers have meticulously designed a series of presets that enable users to achieve maximum system performance and consistency. FIR filters will be supported on future Lab Gruppen platforms.
Acoustic Simulation Tools
EASE GLL libraries are provided for the EASE Focus 3 predictive software, which is available for free download. This allows for accurate calculation of both acoustic coverage and suspension point selection for tilting and aiming a cluster of speakers at the desired angle.
