In the early 1990s, digital synthesizers with presets and limited manual control dominated the space. In 1991, the JD-800 changed all that, bringing the world of synthesizers back to its roots with a control panel and aggressive electronic sound palette. The JD-08 incorporates 64 presets from the original instrument and perfectly recreates the four-tone structure, 108 waveforms, and unique two-part multi-effects that are at the core of the JD-800's complex, evolving sound.
Extended sound for modern times.
While the original JD-800 design is retained in this modern version, there are a number of updates to take the game to the next level. New patches plus 256 memory slots let you dive deep into a huge range of controls to create new sounds for your music. Thanks to the extended polyphony and the possibility of the two-part multitimbral, there is even more room to develop your sonic ideas.
Music that moves.
Once you've chosen sounds, fire up the two-piece polyphonic sequencer and start programming leads, basslines, or basic chords to sync with other devices in your electronic instrument collection. To add animated motion to your sounds, use motion recording and the built-in arpeggiator to get your musical lines dancing.
MIDI, USB and an external clock input.
The JD-08 has a built-in USB-C audio / MIDI interface so you can play, record and sync with all types of PC production software. There are also full-size MIDI I / O for interfacing with other MIDI equipment. There is even an input for an external clock to control the JD-08's onboard sequencer and arpeggiator from classic analog instruments and modern Eurorack systems.

The compact JD-08 will fit virtually anywhere and can be easily controlled from the control keyboard or DAW software. It can run on standard AA batteries for hours of unhindered gaming, and it also has a built-in speaker for audio monitoring. Add the DK-01 Boutique Dock for a polished look and three convenient tilt positions, or grab the K-25m keyboard for a fully standalone, portable instrument.
