RME LNI-2 DC - Advanced DC Power Filter

Superior Signal and Power Quality

RME presents the LNI-2 DC, an active DC filter in a compact and portable format. The LNI-2 DC provides isolation, regulation, and filtering of output signals from all 12-volt DC power supplies, significantly improving voltage stability while offering an exceptionally clean 12 V power source. The result is an enhanced audio signal and sound quality free from noise, hum, and other disturbances caused by power supplies or electrical outlets.

Galvanic Isolation

The LNI-2 DC relies on two key solutions: galvanic isolation and the RME-developed μFilter. Galvanic isolation significantly reduces leakage currents that often occur with switching power supplies. Additionally, the capacitive coupling between the input and output is reduced from 1 nanofarad to less than 35 picofarads to prevent noise generation from leakage currents.

μFilter

The μFilter in the LNI-2 DC consists of a discrete Ultra Low Noise linear regulator with exceptionally low noise levels in the range of a few microvolts, soft start function, overheat protection, short circuit protection, and sensors.

The LNI-2 DC works with DC sources of 9-18 V (input) and provides a stable, ideal output voltage of 12.0 V at 2 A with lock protection. Integrated sensors monitor and compare the output voltage directly at the DC connector of the included four-core cable, completely preventing any voltage drops caused by load.

Intelligent Monitoring and Grounding

Two LED indicators on the top of the device signal the current input and output voltage levels as well as overload conditions. An additional special feature is the optional connection of the DC output ground to the protective earth (PE) conductor, ground, or other grounded devices via a grounding screw to address grounding issues.

Comprehensive User Manual

Another unique addition is a seventeen-page manual offering detailed technical data and numerous measured values illustrated with measurement diagrams. It also includes additional information on linear and switching power supplies.
