NUX METAL CORE DELUXE MKII is a pedal-format preamp with three built-in simulations of famous high-gain amplifiers: Duo Rect, Fireman, and VH4. You can switch between these simulations using the built-in three-position switch.

The Duo Rect is based on the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. It captures the iconic American metal sound from the 90s, known for its legendary metal panel, which reminds us of countless classic albums spanning metal, punk, and grunge. Artists who've used this Mesa model include Metallica, Tool, Korn, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, and Blink 182.

The Fireman is based on the Friedman BE-100, responsible for the distinctive tones of rock icons such as Eddie Van Halen, Steve Stevens, and Jerry Cantrell. For over a decade, the "BE" circuit has been synonymous with the British sound.

The VH4 is based on the Diezel VH4 amplifier of the same name. It revolutionized the industry with its 4-channel and individual insert design. This amp covers a wide range of tones, delivering a dense, pronounced, and "meaty" sound that has captured the hearts of many musicians. Thanks to its flexibility, the VH4 is utilized in many recording studios worldwide.

Digital Amplifier & Impulse Response (IR)

IRs play a crucial role in recreating the speaker sound when using digital amplifiers instead of physical ones. Each of the amplifiers included in the METAL CORE DELUXE MKII comes with a matched IR that complements its sound.

You can load your favorite IRs from other manufacturers using the MetalCore editing software. Visit the product page and download the editor (METAL CORE DELUXE MKII supports IRs with 512-sample resolution). The MetalCore editing software will automatically convert IR files; just make sure the IR file is in WAV format.

USB

• The USB-C port is used for firmware updates and connecting to the MetalCore editing software (see below). To update the pedal, connect the USB cable to the computer, hold down the footswitch to start the device, and enter the DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode. Once connected, you can perform firmware updates using the DFU Updater software.
• Download the relevant firmware and firmware update guide from the product page.
• You can customize parameters and load IRs from other manufacturers using the MetalCore editing software. Connect the USB cable to the pedal and computer, open the editing software, and you're all set. Immerse yourself in the sound. METAL CORE DELUXE MKII offers 5 user slots for loading IRs from other manufacturers. (4~8) Supports 512-sample resolution.

Mobile EFX App with OTG Connection

If you don't have a computer, you can edit pedal settings in real-time using the mobile EFX app. (For iOS systems, you need an adapter from Lightning to USB. While some Type-C to Type-C types may work with Android systems, an OTG adapter ensures better compatibility for most Android systems with the METAL CORE DELUXE MKII).

Footswitch and FS Indicator

When the effect is not connected via USB, hold down the footswitch while connecting the power supply to turn it on. If the LED indicator blinks GREEN 3 times, the infrared is on. If the LED indicator blinks RED 3 times, the infrared is off.
