Modal Electronics ELEMENT One – 8-Voice Virtual Analog Synthesizer

The Modal Electronics ELEMENT One is a modern virtual analog synthesizer designed for musicians who want to focus on creativity and performance instead of complicated programming. This 8-voice synthesizer combines powerful sound design capabilities with intuitive hands-on control and an expressive keyboard featuring aftertouch, making it ideal for both studio production and live performance. With its advanced synthesis engine, premium effects section, and immediate access to essential parameters, ELEMENT One delivers everything from warm vintage-inspired pads to cinematic textures and aggressive modern leads.

Product Features

The instrument features a premium 37-note full-size keyboard with velocity sensitivity and channel aftertouch for highly expressive playing. It includes 64 high-resolution virtual analogue oscillators and two independent oscillator groups packed with advanced synthesis algorithms. Users also gain direct access to 17 encoders, a four-axis joystick, and four assignable control knobs for real-time sound manipulation and performance control.

Intuitive Synthesis and Creative Sound Design

Unlike many complex synthesizers that require deep menu navigation, the Modal Electronics ELEMENT One was created to inspire immediate creativity. The intuitive interface allows musicians to shape sounds instantly using dedicated physical controls instead of diving through endless digital menus. This makes the synthesizer equally suitable for beginners exploring synthesis and professional producers demanding fast workflow and expressive sound design.

The powerful sound engine is capable of producing warm analogue pads, modern leads, punchy basses, evolving ambient textures, and cinematic soundscapes. The built-in programmable arpeggiator with up to 2048 steps generates rhythmic sequences and pulsating patterns perfect for electronic music, film scoring, synthwave, and modern pop production.

Three independent stereo FX engines provide professional-grade chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, delay, and reverb effects. These studio-quality effects allow musicians to create fully polished sounds without relying on external processors or pedals.

ELEMENT One performs equally well as a live stage synthesizer or as the centerpiece of a modern studio setup. USB-C connectivity and the free MODALapp software provide seamless integration with computers and tablets, making sound editing and preset management fast and intuitive.

Applications

Modal Electronics ELEMENT One is designed for a wide range of musicians and producers. Keyboard players can expand their setup with vintage analogue sounds, expressive leads, and lush atmospheric pads. Guitarists can create cinematic layers and ambient textures that blend naturally with their tone, while bass players can add powerful synth basses and subharmonic depth to their performances.

The synthesizer is also an excellent tool for DJs looking to add live synth elements to performances. Drummers can use the arpeggiator for tempo-synced rhythmic sequences, and vocalists can build expressive harmonic layers and cinematic backgrounds during live performances or studio sessions.
