Mesa Boogie 90s Dual Rectifier – all-tube guitar amplifier head

In 1992, Mesa Boogie introduced an amp that forever changed the landscape of high-gain guitar tone – the Dual Rectifier Solo Head. Now, more than 30 years later, the legend returns almost unchanged as the Mesa Boogie 90s Dual Rectifier. The 2025 reissue stays true to the original, hand-built by the same craftspeople in the USA. It delivers the essence of classic American high-gain sound – perfect for both stage and studio environments.

Product features

This amp offers two independent channels: Orange and Red, each with selectable modes (Clean, Vintage High Gain, Modern High Gain). Each channel features dedicated Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence, and Master Volume controls. Advanced features include Channel Style switch, Rectifier Selector (tube/solid-state), Bold/Spongy Power, Polarity Reverse, and a serial FX loop with level control.

Powerful tone and versatility

The Mesa Boogie 90s Dual Rectifier is famous for its massive, tight, and saturated sound that has become a staple among rock and metal players. The Rectifier Select switch lets you choose between tight diode response and softer, more organic tube sag. The Bold/Spongy Power switch affects power amp voltage, allowing for a more compressed tone and reduced headroom – ideal for recording and rehearsals.

Practical applications

This amp is a perfect choice for professional guitarists playing rock, metal, alternative, or doom genres. In studio use, it excels with a clean FX loop and slave output. With 100 watts of all-tube Class A/B power, it easily cuts through any mix and offers huge dynamic headroom.
