Amerykańska marka SONOS powstała w 2002 roku. Założyło ją czterech przyjaciół z Santa Barbara w Californi. Na podstawie stworzonego prze siebie prototypu zaczęli produkcję i sprzedaż urządzeń nagłaśniających, które bardzo szybko podbiły amerykański i światowy rynek. Firma SONOS współpracuje z największymi dostawcami muzyki w internecie, takimi jak Spotify czy Amazon Music.
