Kolumny mają różną moc oraz impedancję , dlatego należy pamiętać aby odpowiednio dobrać wzmacniacz, tak aby te parametry pokrywały się. Kolumny występują w różnych wielkościach z różną ilością głośników. Od kolumn z jednym głośnikiem do najbardziej klasycznych kolumn z 4 głośnikami. Najbardziej popularne są 12 calowe głośniki, ale są również modele z 8 i 10 calowymi głośnikami.
