Kolumny występują w różnych wielkościach z różną ilością głośników. Od kolumn z jednym głośnikiem do najbardziej klasycznych kolumn z 4 głośnikami. Najbardziej popularne są 12 calowe głośniki, ale są również modele z 8 i 10 calowymi głośnikami.

Marshall jest brytyjską firmą założona przez Jima Marshalla w 1962 roku. Początkowo założyciel dawał lekcje gry na perkusji i posiadł niewielki sklepik muzyczny. Aktualnie marka produkuje głównie wzmacniacze, obudowy, pedały, przełączniki nożne. Z produktów Marshalla korzystali tacy artyści jak Slash, Rob Zombie, K.K. Downing, Billy F. Gibbons czy Lana Del Rey. Mimo upływu lat firma nadal cieszy się dużym zainteresowaniem.
