Kolumny występują w różnych wielkościach z różną ilością głośników. Od kolumn z jednym głośnikiem do najbardziej klasycznych kolumn z 4 głośnikami. Najbardziej popularne są 12 calowe głośniki, ale są również modele z 8 i 10 calowymi głośnikami.

Marshall jest brytyjską firmą założona przez Jima Marshalla w 1962 roku. Początkowo założyciel dawał lekcje gry na perkusji i posiadł niewielki sklepik muzyczny.
