Konstrukcja gitar Dreadnought sięga 1916 roku i nawiązuje do legendarnych gitar firmy Martin. Od tego czasu gitary akustyczne tego typu stały się jednymi z najbardziej lubianych instrumentów na świecie. Jeśli szukasz uniwersalnej gitary warto zainteresować się tymi instrumentami. Charakteryzują się zwykle przednią płytą wykonaną ze sklejki w wypadku modeli tańszych lub litego świerkowego lub cedrowego drewna w wypadku gitar z wyższej półki cenowej.
