Zwykle gryfy modelu Double cut mają 22 lub 24 progi i często charakteryzują się menzurą 25” co plasuje je między menzurą modeli Strat i LP. Typowy układ elektryczny w tych gitarach to dwa humbuckery, często z możliwością rozłączania cewek, choć w konstrukcjach niektórych producentów można spotkać inne rozwiązania jak np. dwa przetworniki P-90 .
