Cechą charakterystyczną konstrukcji jest wklejany gryf (tzw. set-in), skala 24-3/4" i 22 progi. Najczęściej Les Paul-e wyposażone są w stały mostek Tune-o-Matic, Stopbar i przetworniki humbucker.
