Instrumenty te charakteryzują się najczęściej klonowym gryfem z klonową lub palisandrową podstrunnicą. Szyjka instrumentu przykręcona jest do korpusu wyposażonego zwykle w trzy przetworniki typu single lub w połączenie przetworników single i humbucker. Menzura typowego strata to 25 i ½".
