Details
Our stylish and highly efficient M8U eX is a modern USB 3.0 MIDI interface with 16 MIDI ports in a single device.
Equipped with the popular MIDI auto-detection technology developed by ESI, each of these 16 ports can be used as a MIDI input or MIDI output, replacing not only regular MIDI interfaces or popular multi-port MIDI interfaces with 8 inputs and 8 outputs but also providing other possible configurations. For example, you can use up to 16 outputs at once or up to 16 inputs or any other combination, such as 12 outputs and 4 inputs. Each automatic input/output configuration is displayed through colored LED lights on the front panel.
If the number of ports is not sufficient, you can connect multiple M8U eX units to the same computer. This is made possible by the integrated USB 3.0 hub, which allows you to connect other USB devices, such as software dongles, USB keyboards, and more, to your computer. This effectively turns the M8U eX into a central hub for MIDI and USB devices in your studio or live performance setup.
The device is class-compliant and can be powered through the USB port or, if necessary for other USB devices, through the included 5V DC power supply. It works out of the box without the need for additional driver installations on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and macOS (both 32-bit and 64-bit). However, it offers even more: it also functions as a standalone Thru and Merge device for MIDI equipment. The M8U eX provides various configurations allowing you to merge multiple MIDI signals and send them to one port or distribute signals across multiple ports, all according to your individual needs and controlled through a button on the front panel.
All of these features make our M8U eX the most powerful USB MIDI interface currently available on the market.
If 16 ports are more than you need, a smaller model, the M4U eX with 8 ports, is also available.
