Microphone Preamps Universal Audio

Przedwzmacniacz , inaczej preamp mikrofonowy ma za zadanie wzmocnić oraz poprawić sygnał mikrofonu. Wzmocnienie sygnału mikrofonu ma znaczenie przy dalszej obróbce dźwięku. Ogólnie można podzielić preampy na dwa rodzaje. 1. Transparentne czyli takie które nie wpływają na sygnał, przekazują go jak najwierniej. 2. Wzmacniacze wpływające na sygnał- nadają im unikalny charakter, brzmienie. Preampy znajdują się w każdym interfejsie/mikserze z tym że nie mogą się równać z dedykowanym preampem.

Universal Audio jest firmą ze Stanów Zjednoczonych powstałą w 1958 roku przez Billa Putnamna Seniora, a nastepnie ponownie założoną w 1999 roku przez jego synów - Jamesa Putnama i Billa Putnama Jr.. Aktualnie firma głównie zajmuje się produkcją przedwzmacniaczy mikrofonowych i interfejsów. Ze sprzętu Universal Audio korzystali tacy artysci jak np. Coldplay czy Brad Paisley.
