The SCX1HC is a professional studio hypercardioid condenser microphone designed for a wide range of recording, broadcasting and live performance applications. Known for its high sensitivity, precise sound reproduction and sonic consistency.
With a flat, consistent frequency response in the 40 Hz - 20 kHz range, the SCX1HC is very consistent during signal processing, and exhibits excellent phase matching and minimal proximity effect. The SCX1HC has a hypercardioid directional characteristic, which, combined with the microphone's high performance and sensitivity, makes the SCX1HC an ideal choice for microphone overheads, room reverberation, orchestral sections, string instruments, and piano. The SCX1HC condenser microphone is the number one choice for hi-hat pickup both live and in the studio.
Other features include a 21mm gold capsule, miniaturized electronics, and an extremely small design cross section. The SCX1HC can handle sound pressure levels of 130 dB and provides up to 20 dB of crosstalk reduction. In addition to acoustic instruments, the SCX1 is an excellent choice for choirs, voice or Foley. The SCX1HC has become a popular choice for pole miking. It features a precision-machined brass body, interchangeable capsules, black 'A' grade multi-layer finish and gold-plated XLR connector.
