ART USB IV - Four-channel USB Audio Interface

With four input channels and class-leading 32-bit, 192 kHz conversion, the USB IV is ARTs most advanced digital audio interface.

It has two mic / instrument and two mic / line inputs, all with combo jacks that can accept XLR and 1/4 connections. Indicator rings around the input gain controls turn green to indicate optimum signal levels, and red to indicate peaking. The interface also features switchable phantom power, balanced 1/4 outputs, a dedicated headphone jack, and full-sized MIDI in and out connectors.

The USB IV is bus-powered, class compliant, and bundled with Cubase LE recording software from Steinberg. It offers extended connectivity and superior fidelity for home and project studios, and its compact size and rugged enclosure make it a convenient tool for mobile recording.

Does the ART USB IV interface work without additional drivers?

Yes, the ART USB IV is USB audio class compliant, meaning it works as a plug-and-play device on both Mac and Windows systems without the need to install additional drivers. However, for the lowest latency and full functionality, it is recommended to install the included ASIO and WDM drivers.

Does the interface provide phantom power for condenser microphones?

Yes, the ART USB IV features switchable +48 V DC phantom power, which is filtered and current-limited, making it ideal for powering condenser microphones.

How many and what types of inputs does the ART USB IV have?

The ART USB IV has four combo XLR/1/4" TRS inputs: two mic/instrument and two mic/line. It supports both balanced and unbalanced signals.

What outputs are available on the interface?

The device offers balanced 1/4" TRS outputs (transformer-isolated), a 1/4" TRS headphone output, and full-size MIDI output.

What software is included with the interface?

The interface comes bundled with Steinberg’s Cubase LE recording software, allowing you to start working right out of the box.

What are the recording capabilities in terms of sound quality?

The ART USB IV uses 32-bit A/D and D/A converters with sampling rates up to 192 kHz, delivering studio-grade sound quality with very low distortion (<0.002%) and a high signal-to-noise ratio (ADC: 115 dB, DAC: 110 dB).

Is the interface portable and durable?

Yes, thanks to its compact size (222 x 157 x 44 mm), light weight (0.97 kg), and sturdy aluminum housing, the ART USB IV is perfect for both studio use and field recording.
