ART Dual xDirect
The Dual xDirect is an active DI-Box offering two independent, high-quality active interfaces. Each channel is equipped with an XLR instrument input, as well as a 1/4" jack input (also known as a combo XLR/1/4" jack connector), a low-impedance XLR output, and a direct 1/4" jack output. Additionally, each channel features a signal attenuator: -30dB, and a ground lift switch.
The DI-Box can be powered by a 9V battery or via phantom power from a mixer. When powered by a battery, it has a very low power consumption, allowing it to operate for over 100 hours on a single battery.
DI-Boxes are devices used in pro-audio systems, primarily for signal balancing. Thanks to balancing, the signal becomes up to 90% more resistant to interference, allowing it to be transmitted over long distances. But that's not all. Another very useful function is the separation of input and output signals. In practice, this helps prevent the formation of ground loops.
