Details
Duotime is a true stereo delay pedal with independent time / sub-division and repeat knobs. Back in the 1980s, all professional musicians used rack-mount effects to trigger stereo delay. It was the golden age of legendary effects engineering such as the Lexicon Delta, TC 2290, Eventide H3000, and more. When we spoke to the "working musicians" we found that they were looking for a great stereo effect with a small footprint and very simple controls. So we discussed the absolutely necessary requirements and developed the Dual Delay motor. It is extremely musical and easy to use. So let's dive in and experience the most versatile delay pedal ever:
Duotime offers analog delay, tape echo, digital delay, modulation delay, and verb delay.
The analog delay (40 ms ~ 402 ms) is based on the Bucket-Brigade Device (BBD), a discrete analog delay. PARAMETER adjusts the modulation depth. When LEVEL and REPEAT are at their maximum, turn the TIME knob to zero and experience natural, infinite feedback like a classic BBD delay.
Tape Echo (55ms ~ 552ms) is based on RE-201 Tape Echo algorithm with NUX Core Image technology. Use the PARAMETER knob to adjust the saturation and feel the distortion of the delayed audio. Just like a real tape echo device, when you set the LEVEL and REPEAT to maximum, try to set the time dial down to zero and you will get infinite feedback and pitch shift.
Digi Delay (80ms ~ 1000ms) is based on a modern digital algorithm with magic compression and filter. After analyzing the decades of evolution of the delay algorithm, we noticed that musicians were not satisfied with the mathematical digital delay sound. That's why we've added some non-digital flavor - inspired by Strymon® and Neunaber®, making the sound much more musical.
PARAMETER controls the hardness of repeated signals so you can feel the unique compressed filter.
MOD delay (20ms ~ 1499ms) is based on Ibanez DML algorithm; a strange and wonderful modulated delay. It was released in the 1980s in an experimental nature. We have selected the most wonderful aspects highlighting the frequency of the musical time synchronization modulation, offering a simple, smooth romantic tone.
VERB Delay (80ms ~ 1000ms) is a way to make a delay sound three-dimensional. Similar to our Atlantic Delay & Reverb, we've added Shimmer to the Plate Reverb algorithm. It has become the iconic sound of our NUX Reverb. Inspired by Kit Tang, the famous Hong Kong studio guitarist, Jamtrackcentral® artist, master of different reverb parallels with different frequency bands to add authentic three-dimensional sound to your effect. Therefore, we have combined parallel digital delay, reverb and different filter characters to offer an unparalleled sacred atmosphere to explore.
PARAMETER controls Plate Reverb and shimmer mix.
LEVEL knob: Controls the level of the delay mix. When using the ENTER LOOP mode, the LEVEL knob will become your LOOP LEVEL for adjusting the Phrase Loop volume.
Delay selector: This is a 5 position rotary switch. You can choose the delay type as ANALOG, TAPE, DIGI, MOD. and VERB.
PARAMETER: For an analog delay, PARAMETER controls the modulation depth. Increase for a wider modulated sound.
On the Tape Echo, the PARAMETER knob controls the saturation of the signal. Increase for a more saturated and distorted sound.
On the Digi Delay, the PARAMETER knob controls the hardness of the signal. Increase for a more compressed and brighter sound.
In the case of Mod Delay, the PARAMETER knob controls the modulation depth. Increase for a wider modulated sound.
In the case of the Verb Delay, the PARAMETER knob controls the level of the Reverb and Shimmer mixes. Increase it for more depth and a three-dimensional impression.
TIME 1: Controls the delay time of delay1. In Tap Tempo it becomes a split according to the current parameter.
