Neumann U 67 Set - the legendary construction of the 60th tube microphone, the production resumed based on the original specifications. U 67 has the ability to choose between omnidirectional, cardioid and octal characteristics. In addition, the U 67 has a low cut and pad switch. Perfect for recording vocals, string instruments, wind instruments, piano, percussion, acoustic, electric, bass and double bass guitars.
U 67 Set
- A tube microphone that defined the sound of the 60s. The original is back!
- Classic tube circuit, transformer, balanced
- Balanced sound in three directional characteristics
- Carefully reproduced in accordance with the original specifications
- A vintage case, handmade in Germany
ORIGINAL - FREQUENTLY IMMEDIATED, NEVER COPYED
Introduced in 1960, the U 67 was the quintessence of a studio draft horse throughout the period of shaping contemporary music. Today, more than ever, its consistently smooth sound is still very popular. Now, for the first time in decades, the legendary tube microphone Neumann returns to production, built according to original specifications.
BACK LEGEND
Introduced as the successor to the eminent Neumann U 47, the smaller microphone would fail. But the U 67 was quickly adopted as a new studio standard, offering many advantages over its predecessor. Thanks to the choice of three directional characteristics and advanced tube systems, including low-cut and pad switches, the Neumann U 67 was well-prepared for practically any recording task. It is still: Until today, many top-engineers would choose U 67 as their "only microphone for a desert island" because of its remarkable versatility and unsurpassed sound quality.
NEUMANN TECHNOLOGY IN THE BEST ISSUE
U 67 was the first microphone equipped with the famous K 67 capsule, which since then was associated with the "sound of Neumann" and is still used in its successor, U 87 A. No less important is the master tube system U 67 with intelligent pre-emphasis scheme / de-emphasis, which aims to minimize the hissing of the lamp. U 67 was also the first microphone for modern recording techniques, such as close miking. The switched low cut filter compensates the proximity effect occurring at short recording distances. Using its initial damping, the U 67 can cope with a high sound pressure level of up to 124 dB without distortion (and much more if you do not mind a bit of "lamp grain").
As timeless as its sound and technical appearance is its external appearance. The conical U 67 body and the conical grate have since become the Neumann brand icon; the same elegant design highlighted its semiconductor successor, U 87, for the next 50+ years.
APPLICATION
The U 67 is a versatile studio microphone suitable for all applications. Its smooth top-end with a subtle gloss of the lamp makes the U 67 an exceptional vocal microphone. Thanks to its linear response in three directional characteristics - omnidirectional, cardioid and octal - the U 67 is also a very versatile microphone for all types of instruments, such as string instruments, woodwinds and tin, piano, percussion, acoustic and electric guitars, bass and double bass .
HISTORY REPETS
Sonically, the current re-edition is identical to U 67 from 1960-1971. It uses the same capsule and electronics construction. Key parts, such as the output transformer BV 12, are meticulously reproduced in accordance with the original documentation. EF86 lamps are carefully selected for optimal performance and the lowest noise level in a dedicated measuring object. The power supply has been redesigned to meet today's stringent safety requirements and to adapt it to a slightly higher current filament of newer premium class lamps. The new NU 67 V power supply is fully compatible with older U 67 microphones.
