The process also brings valuable benefits to today's gamers, including greater reliability, lighter weight, and trouble-free operation. Tube Logic evolves even further with the Nextone series, unlocking access to deep tone customization features that are impractical or impossible with traditional tube designs.
Types of Nextone Reinforcements
• 6V6—Found at the heart of many of America's legendary low-power amps, the 6V6 tube output is known for its distinctively sweet, punchy tone and organic compression.
• 6L6—Used in classic American stage amps and some modern high-gain designs, the 6L6 output tube provides high round and full diameter headroom.
• EL84—Known as the tube amp of British combo amps introduced in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the EL84 produces a glassy, clear sound at lower volumes and rich, creamy distortion when turned.
• EL34 - a lamp from a British icon, loved for its warm tone and unmistakable rock claw.
Become your own technician and customize sounds for your style and touch
Nextone features a two-channel design with clean and lead channels, Boost and Tone switches, three-stage tones and a presence control. Boost and Tone switches are also on hand, so you can add boost and shine as needed. With a quick push of a button, the user can switch the amp into custom mode and get factory-modified variations of the standard channels. What's more, custom mode channels can be customized to your liking using the Nextone Editor software.
Using a friendly interface, the Nextone Editor provides deep editing tools to fine-tune your sound to perfectly match your personal style and favorite pedals. Set your channel tones to US or UK types, shape your overall tone with the powerful channel EQ, and even fine-tune your game's response by adjusting various options. The Tone switch can be assigned to two different types and the Boost switch can be set to different characters and even be assigned as a compressor. There is also a system equalizer that allows you to define the tonal balance of the entire amplifier. With 99 different user presets, you can customize Nextone's sound for every gig you play.
Practical features for performances and recordings
When connected via a single cable, the optional GA-FC foot controller provides a control center for channel selection, tones, gain, effects, pedal volume and more. If you want to travel even lighter, up to three FS series footswitches can be used to control various functions. There is also a line to send a direct signal to the PA as well as phone/recording outputs for silent practice and sessions. Using the editor software, the nature of the direct sound can be set to one of three Air Feel settings.
Also included are external speaker-enabled jacks for connecting up to two 16-ohm 4x12 cabinets for even bigger sounds. In addition to communicating with the Nextone editor, the amp's USB jack acts as a direct recording interface for your DAW. Multiple channels are supported, allowing you to record both column emulation and dry direct tone for re-amplification later by Nextone.
Instant voice changes
In a tube guitar amp, the preamp is important for basic tone shaping, but it's the design of the amp that really defines the overall character of the sound and playing feel. Most amps use a specific type of output tube, while few allow you to swap between different power tubes. Unfortunately, this process usually requires physical lamp replacement and maintenance, making it costly and inconvenient. For the most part, you've had to buy multiple amps to access the unique tonal characteristics of the various output tube sections...until now.
Nextone changes all that with the ability to instantly recreate the sound of an analog class AB amp section with one of four classic designs. The American tone is represented by the 6V6 and 6L6 tube outputs, while the British by the EL84 and EL34 types. Unlike modeling amps, which simply feed pre-made amp models with a non-reactive amp, the choice of amp type in Nextone physically changes the complete output circuit as well as how it interacts with the speaker and preamp. This makes the entire amp perform authentically at every setting, providing realism that is only possible with an advanced approach based on Tube Logic.
Sound and feel at lower volumes
With any tube amp, you really need to push its tube output farther to sing at its best. Unfortunately, this means increasing the volume, which is almost always noticed by sound engineers, band members, and neighbors. Powered by Tube Logic, Nextone provides comprehensive distortion characteristics of the output tubes and how they interact with the output transformer and speaker, ensuring we love the rich, dynamically responsive sound. Thanks to the power control system, users can feel the authentic sound of the amplifier, adjusting the volume to any situation, whether at home, in the studio or on stage.
Onboard effects and switchable effects loops
With built-in delay, reverb and tremolo effects, they bring even more versatility and convenience to guitarists. Using the Nextone Editor, the custom mode delay section can be freely assigned to analog, tape or SDE-3000 delay types or tremolo, while reverb can be assigned to different types. In addition, each effect type offers a deep set of parameters for dialing in the perfect tone. The amp also includes a loop for integrating your own effects, with series/parallel operation, position within the loop selectable via the Nextone editor.
