You've never heard such a subminiature before
The d: screet ™ 6060 CORE subminiature microphones are only 3mm in size, yet have the sound power of our larger, award-winning DPA microphones. They more than make up for their shortcomings in terms of cleanliness, consistency and durability - three qualities that really count. By downscaling the CORE by DPA technology, we ensure that your focus on aesthetics doesn't have to come at the expense of sound quality.
Shrinking the CORE to 3mm
CORE by DPA is a powerful new technology at the heart of our miniature microphones. We minimized distortions. You will experience greater clarity and openness of sound from a whisper to a scream.
Now we've shrunk this amazing CORE technology down to fit our 3mm subminiature mics. This means that despite their small size, the performance of the d: screet ™ 6060 CORE subminiature microphones is fully comparable to the 5mm miniature capsules that are loved all over the world.
These subminiatures have a lower noise floor than any other 3mm capsule microphone on the market and are also better able to capture high sound pressure levels without distortion. In terms of technical specifications, the d: screet ™ 6061 has a noise level of just 26dB (A), so it is on par with the miniature 5mm DPA capsules.
New, advanced microphone design
This tiny capsule has a cap that can be removed for cleaning, and is attached with a latch that closes you audibly and feel. The delivered cap corresponds to the nature of the low-boost mesh from the 5 mm version. Both the microphone itself and the cap are made of stainless steel and covered with a PVD coating, which makes them extremely durable: resistant to high temperatures, impacts and abrasions. The entire microphone has a nice, matte appearance thanks to the coating that makes the entire headset look smaller and less conspicuous.
The weak point of these types of microphones is often the cable, but we decided to use the same size cable (Ø 1.6mm) and the same strong strain relief as our 5mm mics. The cables are extremely durable, do not tangle, and their inner core is made of Kevlar that can withstand strong pulls. The strain relief is integrated into the microphone housing to strengthen the entire set.
The cable and capsule provide immunity to interference from wireless devices. These microphones usually plug into the transmitter, and we offer a full set of adapters to fit the many wireless transmitters available. When using the adapter the connector is our MicroDot, but we also offer fixed plugs that fit most popular systems from manufacturers such as Shure and Sennheiser. All our couplings are equipped with a heavy-duty strain relief.
It is the only 3mm microphone that gives you the DPA sound quality that you know and love.
8 position lavalier clip
When used as a lavalier microphone, a special rotating clip is available. The 360 ° clip can be mounted in eight positions, set every 45 °. It makes it very easy to change from a women's shirt to a men's shirt (shirt with buttons on the left / right side) or even a t-shirt with a cleavage.
A bit about omni-directional microphones
The omnidirectional microphone is sensitive from all angles - as a rule, it picks up sound the same from all directions. This gives an exceptionally natural and realistic sound compared to a cardioid microphone.
Omni-directional microphones are most often used for filming and broadcasting as they pick up sound more naturally compared to directional microphones. Omni-directional microphones are immune to the proximity effect and are less sensitive to wind, blasting sounds and handling noise. Omni-directional microphones are often used even on stage.
Sometimes omnidirectional microphones aren't the first microphones that a live sound engineer with a huge PA system, making an actor's voice think of, will think of. However, due to the close proximity to the sound source (using a tie-type or headband microphone), very high sound levels can be achieved with the omni-directional DPA microphones, without the problem of feedback. These microphones can be heard on many (very loud) theaters, including London's West End and Broadway.
The adapter system ensures versatility
Adapters for wireless systems provide simple, universal and affordable possibilities. You are no longer tied to one wireless system. If conditions change, you can plug in a suitable adapter instead of incurring the cost of a completely new microphone. After making such a replacement, you will not hear any loss or change in sound quality.
The d: fine ™, d: screet ™ and d: vote ™ series miniature microphones work with all leading wireless systems from companies such as Lectrosonics, Sennheiser, Shure, Sony, Wisycom, Zaxcom and others.
The ingenious DPA Microphones adapter system is one of a kind in the industry. It secures your investment in fantastic sound for years to come. If you would like your microphone to have a fixed connector permanently mounted, DPA offers microphones with different types of plugs suitable for the most popular wireless systems.
